Video Workshop: An Introduction to Adobe CS5.5, Part One

An interview with Dennis Radeke, Senior Business Development Manager at Adobe.

This video, and the two that follow it, compose our Introduction to Adobe CS5.5 workshop. We’re calling it a workshop because it’s presented as a series of interviews conducted over Skype in a talk-show styled format. Basically, it’s an introduction to the Adobe Creative Suite Production Premium software package, from three points of view: that of an official Adobe representative, an internationally known Adobe reseller, and a customer who has plenty of previous experience with Creative Suite.
The first of our three video installments is an informal chat with Dennis Radeke of Adobe. Dennis briefly describes the other components of CS5.5 besides Premiere Pro and After Effects, explains the new subscription service, talks about the Mercury Playback Engine, and graciously answers some questions that I put to him about running CS5.5 on the Mac platform (run time: 19 minutes).

Chris Hurd

After completing his degree in Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas, Chris spent a few boring years waiting for the digital video revolution to arrive and for the internet to become mainstream. Things started to get interesting in November of 1997 when he launched The XL1 Watchdog, his first web site dedicated to digital video technology. In January of 2001, that site morphed into DV Info Net — the Digital Video Information Network. More than a decade later, the longevity of DV Info Net is exceeded only by its popularity and reputation as one of the leading technology information resources in the broadcast and professional video market.
