Part Three… but wait, there’s more!
And finally, in the “Yet Even More SilverDraft Fun” department, Ted shows us how a smaller version of Demon handles a virtual reality gaming application for the entertainment industry. Silverdraft booth visitors were welcome to play “Zombies On The Holodeck,” a VR game developed by Survios using a modified Oculus Rift headset. Considering the fact that the outdoor beer garden was only steps away, this experience in the SilverDraft booth was quite possibly the most fun an attendee could have at an NAB2014 exhibit. The scaled-back version of Demon which was running the game is still “insanely powerful,” as Ted describes it, able to handle an intensely demanding live VR environment as seemingly effortlessly as a relaxed vegetarian snacking on kale. This clip runs 4 min. 30 sec.; also with Graham Matuszewski from Survios.
If our twenty-plus minutes of interviews isn’t enough for you to get your Ted fix, then be sure to check out another twelve from PostPerspective, who also chatted with him about SilverDraft and other things at NAB 2014:
Sure hope you enjoyed this extensive look at SilverDraft Devil and Demon. They were interviewed by several other press teams at NAB 2014, but nobody else did as much coverage as DV Info Net. This turned out to be our biggest story of the show!
About SilverDraft: Devil & Demon are not just products, they are a product strategy, born out of a long standing need for post production, visual effects, web video, interactive media, computer animation companies and the like needing a better product philosophy, and better products than what is currently available to them.
The SilverDraft team comes from the motion picture and TV industry. CEO and founder Amy Gile began her career in media and entertainment, but always dreamt of the “better solution” for production. Teaming with Srinidhi Varadarajan, she created Silverdraft to help bring that dream to reality. Today, Amy guides the team technically and administratively, pushing the envelop of development to help provide artists the right tool for the job.
Ted Schilowitz brings his “disruptive” approach to marketing and design to the Silverdraft team, guiding sales efforts and pushing engineering in the direction of things to come.
